Therapy is a place to understand your patterns—and begin changing them.

You may already have a strong understanding of yourself. You may know where certain patterns began, recognize your triggers, and even know what you should do differently. But understanding something and being able to respond differently when it is activated are not always the same thing.

Therapy creates space to slow those patterns down and understand what is happening beneath them—emotionally, relationally, and within your nervous system. Together, we can explore not only why you respond the way you do, but what becomes possible when you have greater awareness, choice, and flexibility in how you respond.

What we may explore together

Therapy is individualized, and the work will look different for each person. Depending on what brings you to therapy, our work may include exploring:

  • Patterns & Beliefs — The patterns and beliefs that shape how you see yourself, interpret your experiences, and relate to others.
  • Emotional Triggers & Responses — What happens internally when you feel threatened, rejected, overwhelmed, uncertain, or emotionally activated.
  • Relationships & Attachment — Familiar relationship dynamics, attachment patterns, and ways of connecting that continue to repeat despite your efforts to change them.
  • Past Experiences & Emotional Wounds — How earlier experiences may continue to influence your emotions, behaviors, relationships, and sense of safety in the present.
  • Boundaries & People-Pleasing — Overfunctioning, difficulty saying no, taking responsibility for others, or losing connection with your own needs.
  • Self-Worth & Self-Compassion — Self-criticism, shame, internal expectations, and the beliefs that influence how you see and treat yourself.
  • Regulation & New Ways of Responding — Developing greater emotional regulation, awareness, self-compassion, and the ability to respond with more choice rather than automatically reacting.

We aren’t simply looking for what is “wrong.” We’re working to understand what your patterns may have developed to protect, where they came from, and whether they still serve the life you want to create.

How I work

I take an integrative approach to therapy, which means I don’t believe one method fits every person or every situation. Our work is shaped by what you bring into the room, what we begin to understand together, and what seems most helpful for creating meaningful change.

We may work with thoughts and beliefs, but we’ll also pay attention to emotions, relationship patterns, physical sensations, and the ways your nervous system responds when something feels threatening or emotionally significant. Sometimes the work involves understanding the past; other times, it means slowing down what is happening in the present so you can experience and respond to it differently.

My approach is informed by attachment, trauma-informed care, cognitive and behavioral approaches, mindfulness, and mind-body awareness. Rather than applying techniques simply because they belong to a particular model, I draw from these approaches intentionally based on your needs and what emerges in our work together.

The goal is not simply to understand yourself better, but to turn insight into meaningful change in how you respond to yourself, your emotions, and your relationships.

What therapy may look like in practice

Therapy isn’t only about talking about what happened. Often, some of the most meaningful work happens when we slow down and become curious about what is happening within you in the present moment.

In a session, we might notice a thought or emotional reaction as it arises and explore what is underneath it. We may pay attention to sensations in your body, identify a familiar belief or protective response, make connections to earlier experiences, or explore what happens when you consider responding differently.

At times, our work may involve learning and practicing specific skills for emotional regulation, communication, boundaries, or changing patterns of thought and behavior. At other times, what is most needed may be space to process an experience, connect with an emotion, or understand something about yourself more deeply.

There is no single way a session has to unfold. The work is collaborative, responsive, and guided by what you need in that moment while remaining connected to the changes you want to create.

Ready to take the next step?

Finding the right therapist matters. I offer a consultation so we can briefly connect, talk about what you’re looking for, and determine whether working together feels like a good fit. If you’re ready to begin, I’d love to hear from you.
